Round 9 most important game was a defeat of league's leader ArgentinianQuimsa (2-1). They were defeated by third ranked Brazilian Corinthians (2-1) 100-96 in overtime on Sunday night. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Quimsa. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The hosts trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 28-21 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 11-7. 24 personal fouls committed by Quimsa helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American guard Elyjah Clark (191-1998, college: MSSU) stepped up and scored 35 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import guard Davaunta Thomas (196-1995, college: UAFS) chipped in 22 points. Thomas is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The best for the losing side was American Brandon Robinson (196-1989, college: Clayton St.) with 24 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and point guard Sebastian Orresta (188-1993) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 assists. Four Corinthians and five Quimsa players scored in double figures. Quimsa's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Corinthians keep a position of league leader, which they share with 4 other teams including defeated Quimsa .
